Hiring a Janitor

FranchiseSometimes a new janitorial franchise can do a great job. A company that’s just starting out will typically offer lower prices, and can save you money in the long run- however, there are some things that you need to keep in mind when you’re hiring a start-up instead of an established company.

Some new cleaning companies are at a disadvantage because they simply don’t have the experience to do the bigger jobs correctly.  If you hire a company that’s relatively new, be prepared to do some on-the-job training, or be ready to hire another company to pick up the shortfall.  As is the case with other businesses, a janitorial franchise gets more proficient as they have been around longer.

Payment terms are another consideration you need to make. If you hire a new company and you pay them by the hour, beware. A more seasoned company may charge more every hour, but it will save you money over time because they are more experienced, and therefore they will be able to complete their tasks faster.

Whether you hire a new janitorial franchise or one that’s been around for a while, be sure to check their references to avoid being misled or ripped off.
